Spin-It Records

Spin-It Records was set up by Steve Mathie in 1993 and has traded from Trinity Market, a Victorian indoor market hall in Hull's Old Town, since 1994. The shop deals only in vinyl, holding a stock of more than 16,000 albums and 7,000 singles that spans genres from northern soul to punk, and is thought to be the oldest vinyl-only record shop still trading in the UK. Inside the shop is the Hull Wall of Fame, a display of framed records and photographs marking musicians connected to the city, which Mathie began building in 2010. Staff take special orders for pressings not held in stock and will track down rarities for collectors. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, though hours can vary and callers are advised to telephone ahead.
