Anthony Parfitt has worked as a potter from his studio at Brig y Don on Trewent Hill since returning to his native Pembrokeshire in the late 1990s, following postgraduate ceramics study at Goldsmiths College after an earlier training in architecture. One window of the small workshop looks onto the road down to Freshwater East beach; the other frames a near 180-degree view of the Bristol Channel, a vista that shapes his thrown and hand-built earthenware, glazed in blues and greys drawn from the seascape outside. Parfitt sells finished pieces directly from the studio and runs pottery classes for beginners and improvers, covering wheel-throwing and hand-building over single sessions or longer courses. Materials, firing and glazing are included, with finished work collected once fired and cooled.
