The Stingray occupies 56 Church Street in Harwich's old town, run by the same family for 21 years as a freehouse stocking real ales, craft beers, and ciders. Its adjoining Crown Post dining room sits inside a timber-framed building recognised by English Heritage and more than 600 years old, with its original vaulted ceiling still intact. The pub keeps pool, darts, and a jukebox for regulars, puts on live music at weekends, and lets five bed-and-breakfast rooms upstairs. The kitchen holds a five-star food hygiene rating. Doors open at 10.30am Monday to Saturday, running to midnight during the week and later on Friday and Saturday nights, with Sunday hours from noon to 11.30pm.
