Vinyl Underground

Vinyl Underground has traded in Northampton since 1993, moving to its present home on the second floor of Watts the Furnishers on Abington Street in 1997, where it remains today. The shop specialises in house, techno, disco and hip-hop vinyl alongside a wider stock of second-hand and new releases across genres, run from inside the furniture store rather than a standalone unit. It opens 10.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and takes part in Record Store Day each April. Companies House records show Vinyl Underground Limited as an active company with accounts filed to November 2025. The shop is independently owned and run from a single Northampton location, distinct from chain music retailers, and has built a following among DJs and collectors over more than three decades of continuous trading on Abington Street.
