Sam Buckley opened Where The Light Gets In in October 2017, up a cobbled brow above Stockport's market place, and cooks a five-course sharing menu shaped by its sourcing — the sustainability that put it in the first-ever batch of Michelin Green Stars in February 2021, and it holds its place in the 2026 Guide. The building took a long maintenance closure through 2025 while the team popped up in Manchester; the books are open again at Rostron Brow, though service runs a shorter week than most and the days move — check when you reserve. Stockport's revival has many authors, but this kitchen wrote the early chapters and the town has been dining out on it since.
