Ystrad Nursery& Cafe

Ystrad Nursery sits just outside Llandovery on the A40 towards Llanwrda, easy to spot by the alpacas grazing in the paddock beside the polytunnels. Owner John Morgan launched the business in March 2017, bringing more than thirty years in the timber trade to a new venture in horticulture. The nursery stocks plants, herbs, shrubs and trees alongside a timber yard, tool shed and garden care section, with new stock arriving weekly. Attached is a small cafe serving sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, pies and a daily homemade soup to visitors browsing the site or breaking a journey along the A40. A second, smaller outpost operates near Llanrhystud in Ceredigion, but the Llandovery nursery remains the original independently run base, competing on price with the larger garden centre chains in the area.
