20 Storey occupies a shopfront on The Square in Kelso, stocking books alongside cards, art, homeware, stationery, and games from brands including The School of Life, Moleskine, and Parkminster Candles. The Times named it among the UK's best independent bookshops, praising its beautifully displayed and thoughtfully varied selection; it was the only Scottish shop on that list. Staff choose the stock by hand, mixing new fiction and non-fiction with gifts not found on the average high street. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, ten until five, on the town square opposite Kelso's market cross, on the route between the abbey ruins and the river.
