Landlord Con Riordan has run the Blythe Hill Tavern on Stanstead Road for more than thirty years. Built around 1866 and refitted internally in Brewer's Tudor style during the 1920s and 1930s, when it traded briefly as the Blythe Hill Hotel, the pub was given Grade II listed status in 2022 in recognition of its rare, largely unaltered three-room layout and original 1920s panelling. It remains a cask ale house rather than a food-led gastropub, with tap room, lounge and snug each keeping a distinct character. The tavern is independently run under Riordan's tenancy, with no sister pub or second site, its historic interior among the reasons Historic England cited for listing it, placing it among a small number of London pubs recognised for surviving multi-room layouts.
