D.W. Wall& Son

D.W. Wall & Son has traded as a butcher from 14 High Street in Ludlow for more than fifty years, currently run by Mike Wall. The shop produces its own Ludlow sausage, a recipe that has picked up multiple awards, alongside dry-cured bacon and a changing range of pies made on the premises. Wall was named Butcher of the Year by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, recognition tied to the shop's sourcing of native and rare-breed meat from local farms. A mail order service now sends the sausage and other cuts beyond Shropshire. Inside, the counter still does its own butchery rather than buying in pre-cut meat, and staff will joint or prepare cuts to order for customers who ask.
