Eight at Gazegill sits on Lower Gazegill Farm at Rimington, opened in February 2024 by organic farmers Ian O'Reilly and Emma Robinson, whose family has farmed this land for generations. Chef patron Doug Crampton builds his menus almost entirely from the farm's 250 acres, working with whatever the fields, hedgerows and livestock provide that week rather than a fixed shopping list. The restaurant was added to the Michelin Guide within its first year of trading, recognition for a kitchen that sources most of its menu just metres from where it cooks. Seating stretches to around 100 covers across brunch, all-day and Sunday lunch menus, while Friday and Saturday evenings shift to an adults-only tasting menu built around the season. The name refers to the eight festivals of the old agricultural calendar, a nod to the farming rhythm.
