Fuggles BeerCafé

Alex Greig opened Fuggles in a former pound shop on Grosvenor Road in 2013 and taught Tunbridge Wells the beer-café idea: continental depth of cask, keg and bottle, tasting flights, no machines, food that knows its place. West Kent CAMRA named it Pub of the Year in 2017 and the Good Beer Guide has kept it close since; a second room opened down the road in Tonbridge in August 2017, disclosed here as the pair. The name is the hop, the ethos is the hop's — English, aromatic, quietly essential.
