The Highlander Inn stands on Victoria Street in Craigellachie, among Speyside's cluster of malt whisky distilleries. Tatsuya Minagawa first worked here as whisky manager after Duncan Elphick bought the inn in 2005, left for several years to serve as Suntory's European brand ambassador, then returned to buy the inn himself. The eight bedrooms are en suite, split between the main building and a house set 35 metres away, and guests have use of a lounge, a club room and an outdoor patio alongside the ground-floor whisky bar. Off-street parking is provided for guests arriving by car to explore the surrounding distilleries on foot. The inn is open all year, with the whisky bar serving a list built up over Minagawa's years in the trade.
