The Kings Arms stands on Bloom Street in Salford, first licensed in 1807 and rebuilt in its current Gothic-fronted form in 1879. Behind an ordinary pub frontage sits a warren of function rooms, including an upstairs theatre used by Studio Salford and a David Bowie-themed snug bar. The pub programmes fringe theatre, comedy and live music through much of the week, alongside a straightforward selection of cask ales and spirits served at the main bar. A cobbled beer garden gives space for quieter drinking when nothing is scheduled upstairs, and the building becomes a hub of activity each year during the Sounds From The Other City festival. Past licensees have included musician Paul Heaton, who held the lease during the early 2010s.
