Liverpool Boat Tour runs half-hour dock cruises from a base beside Tate Liverpool at the Albert Dock, aboard The Princess, a passenger boat refurbished by the operator over two years before it returned to service. The company, incorporated in 2018 and certified by the Marine and Coastguard Agency, sails the historic dock system seven days a week from 11am, weather permitting, with a licensed bar and table service on board plus a commentary covering the docks' shipping history. The boat seats just over 60 passengers and is also available for private charter. Tickets are sold at the dockside rather than through a central booking hall, and sailings run continuously through the day rather than on a fixed timetable. It remains independent of the Mersey Ferries service that runs from the nearby Pier Head.
