LÒN opened on Dunkeld's High Street in July 2020, the second venture from baker Flora Shedden, who also runs the ARAN bakery on the opposite side of the road. The name is Gaelic for provisions, and the shop stocks storecupboard groceries alongside speciality items: jute sacks of pulses and grains, jars of preserves and chocolate, fresh eggs, and cut flowers and dried wreaths made on site. A monthly postal box carries a curated selection of stock to customers further afield. Produce is displayed loose in open crates rather than on packaged shelving. Shedden opened the shop using income from ARAN, established some years earlier, to fund the venture during a difficult period for independent retail. The shop trades daily and remains independently run alongside the bakery.
