Lyons Jewellers

Lyons Jewellers is a family-run jeweller on Southchurch Road in Southend-on-Sea, with a workshop on the premises where staff make bespoke pieces by hand and carry out ring resizing, chain and clasp repairs, engraving and rhodium plating. The shop also buys scrap gold and silver, and stocks a changing range of new and pre-owned jewellery and watches. Because repairs and commissions are made in the workshop rather than sent out to a supplier, customers can discuss a repair or bespoke design directly with the person who will make it, rather than through a counter assistant acting as a go-between. The shop sits on a stretch of Southchurch Road with a number of other independent shops, a short distance from Southchurch Park and the seafront, and continues to trade as an independent, single-site jeweller rather than part of a chain.
