Séverine Sloboda, who grew up around her mother's wine shop in Paris and later worked as a sommelier at London restaurants including the Criterion and Angelus, opened Made From Grapes with Liam Hanlon on Nithsdale Road in late 2020, a year after launching the import side of the business, Sevslo Wine. The shop buys from at least fifteen different UK importers and agents rather than a single distributor, building a list weighted toward natural and low-intervention wine from Alsace, Jura, Burgenland, Germany, Italy and Spain. Bottles can be drunk in the shop or taken home, and the pair also run tastings and a subscription service. The stock turns over according to what Sloboda and Hanlon are drinking themselves rather than a fixed core range.
