Danny, Ewan and James opened Lobo at 758 Pollokshaws Road in Strathbungo in late 2021, taking over the site previously occupied by the brunch café Gnom. Two of the three partners had worked together at Ollie's, a bistro on nearby Nithsdale Road, while James, the head chef, came from Cafe Strange Brew; between them they brought around 25 years in Glasgow hospitality to the new venture. The menu is built around small plates with Spanish, Italian and French influences, meant for sharing across a table rather than as individual courses, backed by a wine list chosen to match the food. The switch from Gnom's daytime brunch format to a full evening restaurant and bar was a deliberate change of direction for the site. Lobo is a single restaurant with no other branches, closed Monday and Tuesday, and open from midday Thursday to Sunday and from 5pm on Wednesday.
