Maghera · Derry & the SperrinsSurveyed

James Bradley opened Mid Ulster Garden Centre in 1973, planting a nursery on Station Road at the edge of Maghera. His son, also James, joined the business in 1976 after graduating from Queen's University Belfast, and grandson Peter now runs day-to-day operations, making this a three-generation family concern trading as Hortus Vitae Ltd. The centre stocks bedding plants, shrubs and trees suited to the Sperrins climate, alongside garden furniture from established makers such as Kettler and Hartman. Its café was refurbished recently and bakes scones fresh each morning, serving breakfast and lunch dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The site sits just off the A6 between Maghera and Magherafelt, with free parking for visitors. Furniture orders are delivered across the UK and Ireland.
