Purely Plants

Purely Plants is an independent nursery down a lane off Wantage Road on the edge of Wallingford, trading for around twenty-five years under Andy and Barb, who grow more than ninety-five per cent of their stock on site. The nursery specialises in hanging baskets made up through the growing season, alongside bedding plants, shrubs, climbers, vegetable plants and herbaceous perennials. Growing is chemical-free, using peat-free and peat-reduced compost with biological pest and disease control rather than sprays. Purely Plants operates from this single Wallingford site only, opening seasonally from spring through autumn, Tuesday to Sunday and bank holiday Mondays. Nearly everything sold has been propagated and grown on the nursery's own beds and polytunnels rather than bought in.
