Phil and Laura White run the Wallingford Tearoom from the first floor of the Wallingford Arcade, a former coaching inn known as the Lamb that now houses antique dealers around a central atrium. White linen tablecloths and full table service set the tone for a menu of light breakfasts, sandwiches, cream teas and cakes, with afternoon tea available by pre-order for parties wanting scones, finger sandwiches and a selection of loose-leaf teas. The couple also take bookings for private dinners tailored to a customer's own menu. Seating is limited to the arcade's dining room, so regulars book ahead for weekend sittings. Parking is found nearby on Castle Street and Wood Street. The tearoom keeps to a five-day week, closing on Sundays and Mondays, and trades under the same roof as the arcade's antique shops.
