R&H Fine Wines opened on Queen Avenue, a narrow pedestrian passage off Castle Street, in 2011, and has traded from the same arcade unit ever since. The focus sits on hand-crafted wines from smaller growers, with a lean toward organic and biodynamic production and a particular interest in orange and skin-contact styles alongside the usual reds and whites. Staff run tastings most weeks rather than treating the shop purely as a bottle counter, and the range turns over often enough that regulars check in on what has just arrived. Queens Bistro opened next door in 2019 as a sister venue, giving customers somewhere to drink the wines rather than only carry them home. The shop keeps city-centre weekday hours but shuts by five on Saturdays and stays closed on Sundays, a rhythm built around trade rather than passing tourist footfall.
