John Sheppy began making cider in 1816, and the sixth generation — David Sheppy, in charge since 1998 — presses at Three Bridges Farm, where the family has farmed since 1917. Ninety acres of orchard surround the House of Cider and Fine Food, opened in 2017: farm shop, deli, cheese counter, café, restaurant and bar under one roof, with behind-the-scenes weekend cider tours running to published 2026 dates and a rural-life museum due back after maintenance. Two centuries in, the trade is unchanged in kind — apples in, cider out — only better housed.
