Staffordshire Brewery began in a garden shed in 2002, when Adrian Corke and his partner Sue set up two fermenters and a four-barrel plant in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The operation moved into a 1,000 sq ft unit in Cheddleton the same year, and Nigel Cope joined as a shareholder and director in 2010. A 20-barrel plant followed, then a bottling line capable of 3,000 bottles an hour arrived in 2017 alongside a 35-barrel brewhouse. In 2019 the team launched Paper Mill Distillery on the same site, producing gin with its own botanicals. The brewery sells through an on-site shop and local farmers' markets, and still runs contract brewing for other producers.
