The Stumble Inn opened in December 2014 as Scarborough's first micropub, a single room a short walk from the railway station. It is a free house, and the beer list changes constantly: six rotating guest ales are kept on at any one time, with local breweries always represented alongside real cider and perry. There is no lager on tap, no fruit machine, no jukebox and no television, an arrangement the owners keep deliberately so conversation stays the point of the room. The pub won CAMRA's local Town Pub of the Year in 2016 and Yorkshire Cider Pub of the Year the following year. Dogs are allowed inside outside of busy periods, and children are limited to the small seating area at the front.
