The Bungalow trades from 15 Shuttle Street in Paisley as a live music venue run as a community interest company, brought back in 2008 by local musicians Alan McEwan and Tommy McGrory after the original bar of the same name, which had hosted acts including The Fall, Simple Minds, Aztec Camera and Siouxsie and the Banshees during the late 1970s and 1980s, had closed. The revived venue operates on a no pay-to-play basis, meaning bands are not charged to perform, and most gigs are free or low-cost to attend, with any profits reinvested into grassroots programming rather than distributed to shareholders. In 2022 the venue won the PRS for Music Foundation's Back to Live prize, recognising its work supporting emerging acts after the pandemic. It continues to programme touring and local bands most weeks, positioning itself as a community-owned alternative to Paisley's larger commercial venues, with company number 633407 registered as a CIC.
