The ClayGarden

The Clay Garden runs a ceramics studio inside a railway arch on Cambridge Grove, opened in Hammersmith in 2020 before a second site followed in Twickenham in August 2023. Classes cover wheel-throwing, hand-building and glazing across beginner and improver levels, alongside monthly membership for people who want open studio access rather than a fixed course. The arch setting means exposed brick and a working, slightly industrial feel rather than a polished retail unit, with private hire available for groups and events outside class hours. The studio positions itself around slow, repeated practice: turning up weekly, working through the same forms, rather than a one-off taster experience. Both sites share equipment standards and a joint booking system, keeping the operation small enough that one team can run both without diluting how classes are taught.
