Turton Wines

Turton Wines began as an online wine business in 2008, started by Brett Dawson, before opening a shop in Bromley Cross, Bolton, in 2011. The shop stocks more than 600 wines alongside gins, spirits, beers and deli goods, with staff tasting stock before it is sold. In September 2018 Dawson opened The Slaughtered House, a bar built into the building's former abattoir at the rear of what had once been a local butcher's shop, now used for weekend wine tastings, wine by the glass and cheese boards. The business trades from this single Darwen Road site, combining a retail shop and bar rather than operating as separate businesses or additional branches, and has since added its own range of wine tasting kits sold for home delivery.
