Corks is an independent wine, beer and spirits merchant with two Bristol shops, one on Cotham Hill and one on North Street in Bedminster. Both stock the full range from Wiper and True, the local Bristol brewery, alongside wines chosen for character rather than brand recognition, including organic, vegan, orange and biodynamic bottles. Staff are trained to advise on pairing and provenance rather than pointing customers to a best-seller shelf. The Cotham shop sits a two-minute walk from Clifton Down train station on a stretch of independent food and drink shops. Running to only two sites keeps buying decisions close to the shop floor, with room to swap in small-batch producers that a larger merchant chain would have no space to stock.
