The Ironbridge Bookshop has traded from 5 The Square since Meg Prince took over the shop nearly eleven years ago, selling new and secondhand books, gifts and a particular specialism in vintage Penguin paperbacks, some issued more than eighty years ago for servicemen and prisoners of war. A dedicated Penguin Wall displays the collection by spine colour, and sections cover fiction, children's classics, local history and Observer's Books, arranged for browsing rather than quick transactions. In 2025 Prince expanded next door into 4 The Square with Book Nook, a second space for author talks, poetry readings, children's story time and craft workshops, roughly doubling the floor space of the original shop, which looks out over the Square towards the River Severn and the bridge itself.
