Bucks Star is a solar-powered microbrewery on Twizel Close in Stonebridge, Milton Keynes, founded in 2015 by Datis Gol. The brewery uses only organic malted grain with no added sugar, and the beer goes out unfiltered and unfined, leaving in the natural sediment along with a mild, live carbonation. Because no fish-derived finings are used at any stage, every beer in the range is suitable for vegans. Rather than selling mainly in disposable bottles, Bucks Star runs a Growler Swap scheme: customers buy a reusable glass growler once and pay a lower refill price on each return visit, cutting down on packaging waste. The adjoining taproom, the Lion & Sun Tavern, serves the full range of seven beers between 3.8 and 5 per cent ABV alongside sourdough pizza and other food made on site.
