Tania Sless and Michael Rosehill took over the Highgate Bookshop in September 2024 from Michael Goodwin, who had run the shop since 2000 and put it up for sale on retiring. The new owners, both long-term local residents, kept the shop's green-painted frontage and its wide-ranging stock, which runs from cookery and art to the Booker shortlist, bedtime stories, global politics and books on Highgate's own local history. Staff put together monthly recommendations across genres rather than relying on bestseller tables, covering literary fiction, thrillers, biography and romance in the same small space. Open seven days a week, with shorter Sunday hours, the shop sits on Highgate High Street among a run of independent traders. It continues trading as a single, family-scale bookshop rather than expanding beyond its original premises.
