Riverhill HimalayanGardens

Riverhill Himalayan Gardens has been the Rogers family home since 1840, when the estate was bought as a country retreat, and four generations of the family now live there and manage the grounds. The gardens rise across a hillside above the Weald of Kent, planted with rhododendrons, magnolias and specimen trees gathered from Himalayan plant-hunting expeditions by earlier generations of the family, alongside a walled rose garden and wildflower meadow. Malabar Coffee House, the on-site café, serves light lunches, coffee and homemade cakes, and visitors may picnic across the grounds. From the summit, paths open onto views across the Kentish Weald. The gardens open Wednesday to Sunday, 10.30am to 5pm, and close on Mondays and Tuesdays except bank holidays.
