The Alma occupies a building dating to 1854 on Church Road, in the Crystal Palace triangle, and trades as an independent freehouse rather than a tied pub. Fourteen taps rotate craft beer from breweries across London, the rest of the UK and abroad, poured alongside a kitchen menu of seasonal British dishes cooked to order rather than plated from a central kitchen. The beer garden is covered and heated through winter, so it stays usable across the colder months rather than closing up. Management runs the pub as a child-free venue, with an age limit of ten and over throughout. Doors open at noon daily, closing at 11pm on weeknights and Sunday, and at midnight on Friday and Saturday.
