The MountVineyard

Simon Greenwood came across The Mount on a weekend away from Clapham and bought the Darent Valley property in 2011, adding vines to a site first planted in 2004 and already producing wine by 2008. He and his wife Sarah joined forces on the business after they met in 2015, and between them they grow eight grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Bacchus and Chardonnay, across ten acres near Shoreham, close to Sevenoaks. The vineyard opened to visitors in 2016, and the couple married there in September 2019. Guests can walk the vines, book a tasting, or eat wood-fired pizza at the courtyard bar and flint-walled tipi, and the on-site Ten Acres shop sells the full range of Mount wines alongside other local spirits and gourmet food.
