Keith Wildman opened the Record Café on North Parade in November 2014 with a proposition billed as a national first: a record shop and a proper beer bar in one room, the vinyl on the mezzanine, four casks and nine kegs below, and Spanish charcuterie — jamón carved by the plate — as the entire food menu, on the theory that anything more would interrupt the listening. Bradford CAMRA has named it Pub of the Year four times over (2017, 2019, 2020, 2022 — and again, the shop says, in 2026), and North Parade's small independent quarter grew up around its example. New releases land on Fridays; the beer rotates faster.
