The SaltedKiln

The Salted Kiln is Sally Mills's pottery on the Briston Road at Melton Constable, in the middle of Norfolk — a working studio where a ceramicist of thirty years' experience makes her own work and teaches others, wheel-throwing, hand-building and glass fusion, to small groups. It is a solo, owner-run operation: founder, owner and teacher the same person, which is the appeal of it. In a county with a strong craft tradition, it is somewhere you can go to make something with your hands rather than just buy it. Book a class, or a place at the wheel, and leave with a pot.
