Considerit has made plant-based chocolate since 2012, opening a shop and small kitchen on Sciennes once demand for its doughnuts, chocolates and ice cream outgrew markets and wholesale accounts alone. Every product leaving the counter is free of animal ingredients, made using cocoa butter and soya milk in place of dairy, and prepared fresh on site rather than shipped in from elsewhere. The doughnuts are the shop's best-known item, with flavours rotating through combinations such as chocolate hazelnut, biscuit and rhubarb and apple crumble. The shop keeps a short opening week, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, trading Wednesday through Sunday to a mostly local, walk-in customer base near the Meadows. Considerit remains a single site, small production kitchen and counter, rather than a chain of cafés.
