Dundee Contemporary Arts opened on Nethergate in March 1999 and remains the city's only independent cinema, alongside two galleries, a print studio and a cafe bar. Run as a charity, it shows new releases and art-house film alongside changing exhibitions of contemporary art from Scottish and international artists.
