Guy Butcher designs and makes fine furniture from a workshop on his family's farm at Canon Frome, near Ledbury, working mainly to commission in both contemporary and traditional styles. Selection of timber is central to the process, with attention given to material choice, joinery method and finish for each piece. An adjoining showroom, the Timber Store Gallery, is housed in a converted apple store and former hop kiln and displays a changing selection of his furniture alongside work by other makers, covering fine art and craft from local and national names. Beyond furniture, Butcher also makes handmade skateboard decks and surf craft under the same workshop, sold in small numbers through the same site. Canon Frome lies in the hop- and apple-growing country between Ledbury and Bromyard, and the farm setting supplies some of the timber worked in the shop. Visits to the gallery and workshop are generally by appointment rather than fixed public hours.
