Hed'On Inn is a micropub at 7 Watmaughs Arcade, off St Augustine Gate in Hedon town centre, converted by landlady Shirley Bamforth from the storeroom of a former carpet shop. The interior uses fittings recycled from around the East Riding, and the pub keeps to micropub principles: no music, no fruit machines, just conversation and a changing line-up of cask ales and ciders, alongside a few continental lagers kept on for regulars from Shirley's previous pub. A quiz runs on Wednesday nights and the pub hosts folk and acoustic sessions. It serves from noon daily. Hedon, the old market town east of Hull, lost several of its traditional pubs before the micropub opened in one of their place, giving the town a small-scale, independently run alternative to the carveries and chain pubs nearby.
