Speyside Coffee Roasting Co began in 2017 in the old games room of the Garmouth Hotel, before the growth of the business took it next door into Kirk Cottage, where it now operates as both cafe and roastery. Grant, who runs the business, holds an intermediate coffee roasting certificate from the Specialty Coffee Association and roasts in small batches to keep beans fresh, favouring a curated selection over a sprawling list of origins. The range includes single-origin and Brazilian beans, a decaffeinated option, a rotating seasonal guest roast, and a barrel-aged coffee produced in collaboration with nearby Glen Moray distillery. The cafe serves homemade soups, toasted paninis, bacon rolls, Danish pastries and tray bakes alongside the coffee, with beans also sold for wholesale and home delivery across Moray.
