The Kings Arms occupies a double-fronted limestone building on The Moors in Kidlington, put up around 1815 and still flanked by old thatched outbuildings once used as stables. The pub belonged to Halls Oxford Brewery and later Punch Taverns before a near neighbour bought the freehold in 2011 specifically to keep it trading as a pub rather than see it converted, and it now runs as Kidlington's only independent free house. Landlord Adam, whose Welsh background shows up in the Sunday roast choices, keeps a rotating line-up of cask ales from local breweries such as Little Ox, Vale and XT alongside real ciders. A function room called The Watermans has since been added in one of the old outbuildings. The kitchen serves food Monday to Saturday lunchtime through evening, and Sunday until 4pm.
