Way's Rare and Secondhand Bookshop has traded at 54 Friday Street in Henley-on-Thames since 1977, run by Richard and Diana Way. The shop is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, the trade's senior governing body, and deals in secondhand, vintage and rare stock spanning fiction, natural history, foreign-language titles, technical manuals, comics and maps. A budget section, nicknamed the Black Hole, holds books priced at one pound each. The shop buys books directly from the public as well as selling them, and stock turns over according to what comes in rather than a fixed catalogue. It occupies a single shopfront with parking available in the driveway alongside. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm; the shop is closed Sundays, Mondays and bank holidays. Over four decades of continuous family ownership, it has remained one of Henley's few dedicated secondhand booksellers, independent of any chain or franchise.
