Phil Kember and Claire Jones set up their deli and café on Byres Road in the early 2000s, splitting their time between the counter, a small bakery and a coffee roastery run alongside the shop. The deli case runs to terrines, salads, cheeses and daily changing sandwiches, while the bakery turns out scones, tarts and loaves from scratch each morning. Coffee is roasted under their own name rather than bought in from elsewhere, and both founders still work the floor when they can rather than leaving the business to run itself. The café sits at the Botanic Gardens end of Byres Road, drawing steady trade from students, university staff and locals doing a weekly shop at the deli counter. It has stayed a single site, with no second branch opened since it began.
