Tafarn y Fic is a community-owned pub in the Llŷn village of Llithfaen, between Nefyn and the north coast. Local people formed a co-operative to buy it in 1988 to keep a Welsh-language pub in the village, and the freehold is now held by a community benefit society; it is often cited as one of the longest-running community-owned pubs in Europe. The bar keeps Welsh cask ales and runs a busy programme of live music and Welsh-language entertainment, with the upstairs Y Daflod room used for gigs and functions. Food is served in the pub, and there is a community room and space for local courses. Because it is owned by its members rather than a brewery or pub company, it works as a genuine free house and a focus for village life on the peninsula.
