The Garden

The Garden occupies premises on The Bridge in Chippenham and describes itself as the town's only independent restaurant. Catherine and John McConnachie registered the business in February 2022, building a menu centred on British barbecue: chargrilled steaks, burgers and vegetables cooked from scratch using produce from named local suppliers. A garden theme runs through the dining room, referencing an English summer garden rather than a conventional dining room fit-out. The kitchen caters for vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements alongside its core barbecue offer. Lunch and dinner service run Wednesday to Saturday, with the restaurant closed the rest of the week. The compact site seats diners across a single ground-floor room rather than spreading across multiple areas, keeping the operation contained to one address in the town centre.
