Broadway Butchers has traded from the same shop on Didcot's Broadway since 1985 under owner Phil Kent, and is now the only butcher left on the town's high street. The counter concentrates on Scotch beef alongside locally sourced pork and lamb, with a sausage-making operation that has produced more than a million sausages since the shop opened. Beyond walk-in retail custom, Broadway Butchers supplies meat to local schools, pubs and restaurants across South Oxfordshire, a wholesale side that runs alongside the shop trade rather than through separate branches. The shop opens at 7.30am and closes on Wednesdays, splitting the working week in two. Prices are pitched to stay competitive with supermarket meat counters while sourcing remains local rather than centralised.
