Food & Thorn Bistro occupies a cafe unit attached to the Seraphina holistic wellbeing centre on Stamford Street Central in Ashton-under-Lyne. Owner Nichola Whittle opened the business in November 2021, taking on the space to bring a working kitchen back into the building after the pandemic. The bistro runs a daily brunch and lunch menu built around fresh, locally sourced produce, alongside evening supper clubs, cocktails and canned matcha drinks. It is a family-run concern, and Whittle also operates a small florist counter from part of the same premises, selling bunches alongside the food service. The bistro trades seven days a week through the morning and into mid-afternoon, with supper club evenings held periodically and announced on social media rather than a fixed schedule.
