The Old Crown Coaching Inn occupies a 16th-century former coaching inn on Faringdon's Market Place, complete with the original horse-and-carriage archway leading through to a courtyard. Nick Evans took the inn on in 2021 with his son Sebastiaan and business partner Andy Clarke, carrying out a full refurbishment that added an 80-seat restaurant, a cocktail bar and courtyard dining while keeping the exposed beams and open fire in the older bar. The inn now runs 14 en-suite rooms, each individually decorated, with Cotswold Linen Co. bedding and Nespresso machines, alongside the two-AA-rosette Ballroom Restaurant, where head chef Samuel Squires changes the seasonal menu every six to eight weeks. During the English Civil War the building is said to have sheltered Royalist supporters of Charles I, and tunnels are said to have once linked it to other sites in the town.
